Biography

Born into a family of shopkeepers, Nicole Barthélémy grew up working in the family fishmonger’s before changing tack, “from sea to earth”. She was just 20 when she opened her cheese shop. For more than 40 years, Nicole Barthélémy has been making mouths water, from gourmet connoisseurs and regulars to curious passers-by and prestigious customers – including the French president’s residence, which she has been supplying since 1973! She has become a benchmark of good flavour and has a long history in the area. Like a guardian of traditional skills at Beaupassage, she has paved the way for her new neighbours.
